WIA Europe Awards
WIA Europe would like to recognise the achievements of outstanding women in aerospace and upcoming talents - young professionals and students alike - and for this we set up our awards programme.
Participation in the event demonstrates your commitment to WIA Europe's mission: to expand women's opportunities for leadership and increase their visibility in the aerospace community. The 2012 ceremony will be held in November.
A call for 2012 nominees is now out: please send in your nominations and applications to info@wia-europe.org. The deadline for this year is September 30.
You do not need to be a Women In Aerospace Europe member to be eligible for either award!
The WIA Europe Outstanding Achievement Award is presented to a person who has:
- Shown noteworthy achievements in or contributions to an aerospace related project or programme that represents a breakthrough or milestone in the aerospace field in Europe.
- Shown noteworthy achievements in or contributions to an academic/educational project or program that represents a breakthrough or milestone in the aerospace field in Europe.1.
- Shown exemplary leadership abilities in the aerospace field.
- Served / serves as a role model or mentor who demonstrates dedication to the advancement of women in aerospace.
- Contributed positively to raise awareness and recognition of women in aerospace.
- An active commitment to the professional growth of women in aerospace.
The WIA Europe Student and Young Professional Award is presented to:
A person who will win the yearly essay competition (of no more than two typewritten pages) that discusses:
- The relevance of studying and working in the aerospace sector and their future role and their contributions in academia an/or as a young aerospace professional
- What the candidate intends to do with the prize money and what they intend to do with the experience upon his/her return home, including an effort to share what has been learned.
