Tina Büchner da Costa

Director, Regional Development

A real space enthusiast, Tina is currently working on the development of the next generation Ariane 5 rocket, called Ariane 5 Midlife Evolution. She holds an Aerospace Engineering Masters degree from Stuttgart University and has worked in several aerospace companies in Toulouse (Airbus), Germany (Astrium), the Netherlands (ESA-ESTEC) and Kourou, French Guiana. She has been based in Bremen for six years now, working on major space vehicles like the ATV and now Ariane 5 for Astrium Space Transportation.

Having travelled so extensively, she has a wide network of engineers in the aerospace community and loves how all share the same unique fascination about their job. She is eager to share this fascination with the younger generation and to unite the women in this business to reach their professional goals. As a multilingual engineer with fluency in German, English, French and Portuguese, Tina understands the value of having multiple strings to your bow, and is keen to nurture WIA’s training programme, which she has initiated and now coordinates.

Tina is married and has one daughter. She is a member of the German Aerospace Association, DGLR.
