Attending space conferences: 2012 WIA-Europe grants for young talents

WIA Europe would like to encourage and support upcoming talent – young professionals and students alike – and for this we have set up a grants programme.

The programme provides grants of €500 to cover attendance at space workshops and conferences and is intended to support new and young colleagues with their first experiences in presenting a paper in an international context.

APPLICATIONS

Applicants do not need to be WIA members but participation should be in the spirit of WIA Europe's mission: to expand women's opportunities for leadership and increase their visibility in the aerospace community.

For 2012, the programme will be split in 2 parts in order to provide the maximum of opportunities to applicants. Congratulations to our first winner! The deadline for the second half of the year is:

30.6.2012 for conferences and workshops in the period July - December

Applicants should send a short CV and the abstract of the paper they intend to present to info@wia-europe.org, with a copy to cristina.falvella@asi.it. Papers should be formally accepted by the conference in which they are supposed to be presented, and the letter of acceptance emailed along with the application.

Submissions related to all space disciplines are welcome.

WINNERS Successful applicants will be informed via e-mail, they will receive a grant of 500€ for the conference and 1 year free membership of WIA-Europe.

They will be also requested to give a short presentation of their work at the next WIA Europe General Assembly.
