Raffaella Pappalardo
Director, Programmes
Raised in a multicultural environment, Raffaella graduated from the University of London (Queen Mary and Westfield College) in languages and European Studies. She subsequently settled in The Netherlands where she started her professional career in IT (Information Technology). She first followed a technical path in software engineering followed by some years in the managerial and marketing sphere.
Following a year of exploration around the globe, she joined Sapienza Consulting in 2005 where she was assigned at Strategy and Architecture Office, in the Directorate of Human Spaceflight at ESA, in the function of administrator/consultant. She covered various positions within the directorate enabling her to build up a wide network of contacts within ESA, international agencies and industry.
"Working in a multicultural environment is very rewarding and the variety of tasks and the environment itself provides a real challenge enabling me to build upon my interpersonal and professional experiences".
She is an avid practitioner of Aikido, a Japanese martial art with a philosophy that can be easily applied to everyday life.
