Your daily life
The Cannes site is responsible for the design of satellite systems and platforms, satellite assembly/integration/testing, and in-orbit operations. The site has expertise in optical instrumentation and avionics.
The main performances that must be measured on the ground, before launch into space, are:
- the optical quality of various optical systems
- Characterization of detectors and the image chain
- Electrical testing of electronic equipment
- The image quality of the instrument once its detectors are integrated
The measures implemented are varied (radiometry, interferometry, geometric measurements, spectral measurements, polarization, etc.), sometimes based on advanced digital processing.
The service’s activities to ensure these performances consist of:
- Design ground adjustment and characterization methods, estimating the level of precision of the test methods
- Supply and set up test benches, which are then validated experimentally
- carry out ground tests on flight specimens and associated post-processing
- draft the documentation relating to all these activities
The incumbent is seconded to the team of a project to develop a spectral measuring instrument operating on the principle of partial interferogram imaging.
- He participates in the co-engineering monitoring of assembly and alignment activities for integrated optics.
- Attached to the AIT optical department and drawing on his concrete knowledge of its operation,
- The incumbent coordinates and carries out integration activities.
- It relies on the mission performance engineers to establish the validation plan (characterization of the detection box as well as the spectral characterization), the definition of the tests and the development of the necessary means.
- He ensures regular contact with the AIT department in order to share the progress of the project and to prepare an industrial follow-up to the project (participation in the roadmap, identification of skills to be developed, technical investment and derisking proposal).
Your Profile
With a Bac + 5 qualification in optics / Space such as Institut d’Optique, ENSSAT, Master OSAE, Polytech, you have at least 10 years of experience in a similar field.
You are proficient in the various optical tests/measurements :
- Sounder-type interferometry, FTS
- VIS & IR radiometry measurement
- Knowledge of detector implementation
- Optical instrumentation, optical mechanics
- Optical fiber, fiber source
- Proficiency in signal processing / scientific data in MATLAB, PYTHON.
You have one/some:
- Significant AIT experience in measuring the performance of optical space instruments of the spectral/sounder type
- Knowledge of the ESA market environment (standard)
- Significant laboratory experience
