WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

At GMV you willĀ join the Satellite Data Processing Systems team supporting Earth Observation missions in PolandĀ (minimum two-year assignment). The role focuses on the development of advanced data processing, engineering, data management, and associated service solutions for ground segment systems.

Earth Observation missions require efficient, secure, and high-performance solutions capable of managing and processing large volumes of satellite imagery and derived products. The position involves working in both cloud and on-premises environments, contributing to operational systems with strict requirements in terms of security, quality, reliability, and timeliness.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  • analyzing system and mission requirements and translating them into functional and technical software specifications.
  • design, development and optimization of operational ground segment data processing software for Earth Observation missions, covering large-scale satellite image and product management in cloud and on-premises environments.
  • integration, verification and validation (IV&V) activities, including test definition and execution, anomaly resolution and performance validation.
  • supporting CI/CD pipelines, configuration management and automation processes, as well as preparing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation in compliance with quality and security standards for operational systems.
WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We are looking for a technically strong profile with the ability to develop structured, maintainable and high-quality software solutions.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of professional experience in software development, including the deployment and operation of applications in cloud-based environments.

Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) processes is required, along with regular use of source code management and version control tools.

From a technical perspective, knowledge of Java, C++, Kubernetes is required. Experience with Keycloak, S3-compatible storage solutions, and Python will be considered a strong asset.

We will also value:

  • Satellite Earth Observation data processing solutions. Working experience in Space Agencies and their metholodologies.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems, microservices architectures, and scalable data processing solutions in operational environments is highly valued.
  • Knowledge of STAC (SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog), ZARR/NetCFD formats
