On 22 March 2016 WIA-Europe will award its 2016 Outstanding Achievement Award to one of the most remarkable female personalities in the worldwide space business – Candace Johnson. She is a global serial entrepreneur, a telecom networks and  infrastructure expert, and an investor and business angel. Among other achievements, she is the co-initiator of SES/ASTRA and the architect of SES Global, the  world’s pre-eminent satellite group. She is Founding President of Europe Online Investments S.A., the world’s first internet-based online service  and satellite broadband network, and founder of Loral Cyberstar-Teleport Europe, Europe’s first independent private trans-border satellite  communications network as well as Founding President of the VATM, the Association of Private Telecom Operators in Germany, founder of OWNSAT, Oceania Women’s Network Satellite, Board Member of Kacific and Founding  President of the Global Telecom Women’s Network (GTWN).
