Airbus Italia is an Italian space company with over 30 years of experience in satellite technologies and products. It is the local industrial footprint of Airbus Defence and Space since 2015. Its expertise in satellite telecommunications covers both ground and space segment and it boasts several international patents related to antennas, radars, scientific software and digital signal processing. Airbus Italia is leader in Airborne SatCom technology and its product portfolio also includes on-board equipment for data transmission (Inter-Satellite-Link), passive RF components, active and passive antennas, ground operating software for configuring and spectrum monitoring of telecommunication flexible payloads, flight firmware for processing of the digital signal, telecommunications protocols for IoT and ground modems. Along its history, Airbus Italia participated to major Italian and European space programs.
Airbus Italia’s Headquarters and Industrial Plant are located in Rome. The Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) facility is mainly dedicated to the validation and qualification of on-board and ground components, equipment and subsystems for space applications.
