Call open for ESA Academy’s Concurrent Engineering Challenge 2019!

ESA’s Education Office would like to inform you that the call for applications for the ESA Academy’s Concurrent Engineering Challenge 2019 is now open. The Challenge will be held at ESA Academy’s Training and Learning Facility in ESEC-Galaxia, Belgium from 11 to 15 November 2019. Please find more information about this opportunity below.

Concurrent Engineering Challenge 2019:

Description: ESA’s Education Office is looking for 30 talented and motivated Master’s and PhD students to participate in the Concurrent Engineering Challenge 2019. During this 5-day Challenge, the student group from the ESA Academy’s Training and Learning Facility will be joined by three other groups, from Concurrent Engineering Facilities (CEFs) in KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), Politecnico di Milano (Italy) and Cranfield University (United Kingdom). Selected students in each Facility will be supervised by two system engineers  to design a mission concept and will be divided into small teams of two or three to cover the following disciplines:

  • structures,
  • configuration,
  • power,
  • mechanisms,
  • thermal,
  • attitude and orbit control,
  • propulsion,
  • trajectory analysis,
  • communications and data handling.

Open to: Master and PhD engineering and physics students.

Application Deadline: 16 September 2019.
