Driven by the rapid growth of Czechia’s aerospace ecosystem and the forthcoming 2026 WIA-Europe Leadership Workshop in Prague, Women in Aerospace Europe (WIA-Europe) is delighted to announce the official launch of the WIA-Europe Czechia Regional Network, which shall be led by Marie Kučmáš and Terezie Němcová.
This new Regional Network will serve as a dynamic platform to connect, support and empower female professionals, researchers, entrepreneurs and students across the Czech aerospace sector. By fostering strong partnerships with industry, academia and institutional stakeholders, and by creating locally tailored initiatives and opportunities, the network aims to strengthen the visibility and impact of regional talent while ensuring that diversity and inclusion remain at the forefront of the country’s aerospace future.
A Historic Launch in Prague:
To mark this important milestone, WIA-Europe is pleased to invite participants to an exclusive event organised in conjunction with the WIA-Europe Leadership Workshop: a private visit to the headquarters of the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) in Prague.
This unique opportunity will provide participants with first-hand insight into European space programmes, career opportunities and initiatives promoting diversity and inclusion across the European space sector.
Meet the Leaders:
Marie Kučmáš is a Business Development professional at JD Dvořák, specialising in project management, stakeholder engagement and ecosystem building in the aerospace and defence sectors. Previously, as Director of the Space Hub at CzechInvest, she played a leading role in developing the Czech space ecosystem, fostering collaboration between industry, start-ups, research institutions and public organisations, and organising Czech Space Week.
With experience spanning the space industry, government and academia, including work with the ESA BIC Czech Republic programme, Charles University and the European Commission, Marie is passionate about connecting people, ideas and opportunities to drive innovation and sustainable growth in the aerospace sector.
Terezie Němcová – specialising in export control, Terezie has built a strong compliance foundation from her experience within the aerospace sector at ESA and Airbus. Parallel to her regulatory focus, she is actively shaping the future of space law and policy with research and publications detailing its intersection with IP, AI and planetary defence. As National Point of Contact for the Czech Republic within the Space Generation Advisory Council, she is paving international pathways for young talent to connect with the global community and step into the space sector.
Recognising her dedication and ongoing research contributions to space law, Terezie was elected a prospective member of the International Institute for Space Law, deepening her involvement in international legal research.
As WIA-Europe continues to expand its presence across Europe, the launch of the Czechia Regional Network reflects the organisation’s commitment to supporting local communities, fostering collaboration and creating opportunities for women to thrive and lead in the aerospace sector.
