We are honoured to have participated in the 63rd Session of the Scientific and Technical Subcommittee (STSC), held in Vienna, Austria, from 2ā9 and 11ā13 February 2026, under the framework of the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs and the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space.
It was encouraging to see growing engagement from emerging spacefaring nations, alongside established actors, all contributing to technical discussions on the sustainable, responsible, and inclusive use of outer space. The diversity of perspectives – across regions, levels of development, and areas of expertise – highlighted how dynamic and interconnected the space community has become.
We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute in this capacity and to have been represented in Vienna by our WIA-Europe colleagues and Austria Regional Network leaders Sundas Syed and Aigerim Rabl. The event was attended by fellow WIA-Europe members representing their respective organisations, including Mamatha Maheshwarappa from UKSA, Veronique Glaude from ITU, and Maruska Strah representing Slovenia. We were also pleased to reconnect with Aarti Holla-Maini, a longstanding supporter of WIA-Europe, and to capture a moment reflecting the strong and collaborative spirit of our community.
